ASNT Level III – Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- An ASNT Level III Ultrasonic Testing (UT) course outline covers fundamental principles, equipment, and advanced techniques, along with interpretation, procedure development, and applicable codes. Key topics include wave propagation and types, transducer operation, contact and immersion methods, and data interpretation for flaws.
- The outline also includes evaluating base metals, weldments, and composites, as well as developing and validating UT procedures according to industry standards like ASME and AWS.

Course Contents
- Day 1: Ultrasonic principles, wave propagation, and transducers.
- Day 2: Calibration, DAC/TCG curves, sensitivity settings.
- Day 3: Techniques (pulse-echo, immersion, TOFD, phased array overview).
- Day 4: Codes and standards (ASME V, AWS D1.1), procedure writing.
- Day 5: Data interpretation, flaw characterization, mock exam.
