ASNT Level III – Penetrant Testing (PT)
- An ASNT Level III Penetrant Testing (PT) course outline includes advanced theory, principles, and applications of the PT method, covering equipment, materials, different methods (visible and fluorescent), and interpretation. It also includes the administration of NDT programs, understanding materials science and fabrication processes, and the creation and evaluation of inspection procedures and techniques, in accordance with standards like SNT-TC-1A.
- The outline is built upon the foundational knowledge from Level I and II courses, focusing on the higher-level skills required for an ASNT Level III certification candidate.

- Day 1: PT principles, materials, and system components.
- Day 2: Surface preparation, application techniques, dwell times, developers.
- Day 3: Interpretation and evaluation of indications, acceptance criteria.
- Day 4: Procedure writing, standards (ASTM E1417, ASME V).
- Day 5: Mock questions, problem-solving, and exam preparation.
